buildingSMART Singapore Objectives
buildingSMART Singapore Chapter was established in 1997. Its objectives are:
- To develop an industry-wide framework for sharing of digital construction information throughout the whole life cycle of a building project, through the use of guidelines on interoperability.
- To provide a forum for members to work together on programs to advance the buildingSMART International standards and promote practices for information sharing.
- In furtherance of the above objects, the Society may promote the aforesaid purposes by any appropriate means which are not contrary to law or inconsistent with the by-laws as stipulated by buildingSMART Singapore.
The purpose of setting up a buildingSMART Singapore is to collaborate with buildingSMART worldwide to define, publish and promote common standards for sharing information through the construction project life cycle and across disciplines and will help the domain expertise to localize and adapt IFC standards for incremental application on real projects applicable in our local industry.
